Works in an outpatient clinic to provide a wide range of medical duties, including Primary Care, non-operative Orthopedic Care, and Sports Medicine.

Perform emergency services or crisis intervention, including life-saving emergency procedures when necessary.

Serve as member of the professional medical staff and/ or faculty to provide advisory and consultative services on various meetings, committees, conferences, and/ or boards.

Develop medical policy, guidance, and standard of care determinations within the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).

Attend and or participate in health care conferences as requested.

Independently formulate full treatment plans based on sound evaluation and diagnoses consistent with current and/ or evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.

Provide ambulatory care by documenting patient histories, conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies.

Prescribe medications, perform patient education, demonstrate modalities, and document results of activities in the electronic medical record.

Oversees evaluation and coordination of musculoskeletal injuries, illnesses, and rehabilitation protocols by collaboration with athletic trainers, orthopedics, supporting sub-specialties, and entry level training service members.

Refers patients to other specialty clinics for evaluation and/or treatment when the issues or ailments are beyond the scope of this position.

Serves as adjunct faculty for the Graduate Medical Education Programs at a large MTF, including Primary Care residents, medical students, Physician Assistants (PA), and medical military service member students.
