Installation Helper
The Installation Helper works alongside lead technicians to support the installation of fireplaces and related components. This role provides an extra set of hands on site, assisting with a wide variety of tasks that change from project to project. It is well suited to someone who enjoys hands-on work, learning new skills, and working in an environment where each day can look different.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the lead technician as a right-hand helper on fireplace installation projects.
- Move, carry, and position materials and equipment as directed by the lead technician.
- Hold materials in place during installation to ensure accurate and safe placement.
- Use hand tools and power tools to assist with installation tasks under supervision.
- Climb ladders as needed to access work areas safely and efficiently.
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds and perform other heavy lifting as required.
- Follow instructions from the lead technician and adapt to changing tasks based on the project and stage of work.
- Assist with basic construction-related tasks, such as measuring, cutting, and fitting components.
- Support plumbing and pipefitting-related installation activities when applicable.
- Follow safety guidelines and use proper protective practices on all job sites.
- Report to the shop each day and ride with the lead technician to and from job sites.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and willingness to take on new tasks as needed.
Essential Skills
- Mechanical aptitude and a strong interest in hands-on, technical work.
- Comfort and proficiency in using common hand tools.
- Experience working in construction or a skilled trade environment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, including regularly lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Comfort with climbing ladders and working at various heights as needed.
- Ability to use power tools safely under supervision.
- Reliability in meeting at the shop on time and working full shifts with possible overtime.
- Eagerness to learn, strong work ethic, and willingness to handle changing daily tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a specific trade such as plumbing and/or pipefitting is a plus.
- Any safety-related certifications, such as OSHA, are a plus.
- Any technical training or trade-related education is beneficial.
- Experience with installation work in any construction or mechanical setting is an advantage.
- Openness to obtaining a valid driver's license within the first year of permanent employment, if not already held.

Work Environment
The role is field-based with daily travel to job sites. Each workday begins at the shop, where the Installation Helper meets the lead technician and rides together to the project location. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with typical workdays lasting 8–10 hours. Overtime is required as needed, and during busy periods the workday may extend to approximately 6:00 am to 6:00 pm; Saturday work is uncommon. The work takes place on active job sites and in construction environments, involving regular use of hand tools and power tools, climbing ladders, and performing heavy lifting. The position is physically demanding and best suited to someone who is comfortable working on their feet and handling materials throughout the day. The nature of the projects means that duties can change daily, offering variety rather than a highly repetitive routine. Appropriate workwear suitable for construction and installation environments is expected to ensure safety and practicality on site.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
