Video Surveillance & Electronic Access Control Technician

What You'll Actually Be Doing Mounting, configuring, and commissioning IP cameras across enterprise VMS platforms (Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, and others) Installing and programming access control panels, readers, locks, and door hardware across leading platforms (Genetec, Motorola, Acre, Brivo, AMAG, and more) Performing server-side system programming and configuration on VMS and access control servers, including basic system administration tasks System commissioning, end‑user training, and turnover documentation Service calls and system troubleshooting on existing customer sites Working from drawings, BOMs, and submittals — and flagging issues before they become problems in the field Supporting security cable installation and testing as the work requires What We're Looking For Minimum 2 years of hands‑on field experience installing and commissioning IP-based video surveillance and electronic access control systems (we’ll consider strong candidates with less if the foundation is there) Working knowledge of network fundamentals — IP addressing, VLANs, PoE, switch configuration basics Comfortable navigating Windows and SQL Server environments and applying basic cybersecurity practices — hardening, account management, patching awareness, and working within customer IT/security policies Comfortable terminating category and security cable to industry standards Able to read and work from construction drawings and submittals Valid driver's license and clean driving record BICSI INST1, INST2, or ESS credentials are a plus but not required — we support certification growth Manufacturer certifications (Genetec TSE, Milestone MCT, Avigilon, Lenel, Software House, etc.) strongly preferred This Role Is NOT For: Candidates without hands‑on field experience installing the systems listed above Anyone uncomfortable working independently on customer sites What We Offer IBEW union position with full wage and benefits package — wages and benefits are at the top of the local market, with employer-paid health insurance, pension, and annuity Company truck, tools, phone, PPE and modern test equipment System programmer(s) supporting the customers and field, local PM teams supporting the technicians, pre‑fabrication shop to assist on customer hardware/mounting as needed Variety of work across commercial, higher ed, K‑12, healthcare, industrial, financial, data center, and government projects Career growth path including support for manufacturer certifications, and progression estimator, programmer, or PM roles Stability of a 130‑year‑old company with in‑house electrical, steel erection, prefabrication, and structured cabling teams supporting complete turnkey installations Tri‑City Technologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
