The Junior Electronic / Mechanical Technician supports the repair, calibration, and testing of industrial electronic and electro-mechanical equipment under the guidance of senior technicians and specialists. This role focuses on developing technical skills while ensuring repaired units meet company quality and performance standards.

The Junior Technician repairs and validates equipment such as PLCs, drives, industrial PCBs, timers, counters, monitors, servo motors, and temperature/process control devices. Responsibilities include basic troubleshooting, component replacement, soldering, and functional testing using standard diagnostic tools and procedures.

This position requires foundational knowledge of electronics or electro-mechanical systems, good soldering skills, and the ability to follow documented repair processes. The Junior Technician is responsible for accurately documenting repairs and test results in company IT systems and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Essential duties and responsibilities include performing bench-level electronic and electro-mechanical repairs using industry-standard troubleshooting and soldering techniques, isolating failures at the component level on industrial control equipment, and utilizing test equipment to verify proper operation and performance.

Metrics include units per day completed, on-time delivery, throughput cycle time, quality check %, test fail %, warranty %, rate of return, repair index, and BER (beyond economical repair) %.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, technical certificate in electronics, mechatronics, industrial technology, or related field, internship, trade school lab experience, or military technical training considered a plus. Knowledge and skills required include strong computer proficiency, multitasking ability, fast pace work, independent work, detail orientation, troubleshooting abilities, good soldering skills, problem-solving abilities, and good communication skills.

Physical demands include occasional reaching/working overhead, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, frequent walking, continuous standing and repetitive hand motion, and lifting requirements including occasional lifting to 50 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds and continuous lifting of up to 10 pounds.

Work schedule is full-time with regular hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required on Saturdays based on customer demand and is mandatory unless cancelled by senior management due to acceptable customer service levels. Additional overtime may also be scheduled as needed. Employees are expected to adhere strictly to attendance and coverage policies. Time off will be granted with proper formal notice and in accordance with company policy.

Work environment is a warehouse setting. Dress attire is casual but professional in a warehouse setting. All employees are required to wear Security access card and encouraged to wear apparel with company logo. All employees must always adhere to Safety Policies. All handheld users are required to wear the appropriate belt/holster assembly while a unit is in their possession. Closed toe, hard soled shoes must be worn. Safety shoes are recommended.
