Test Technician

2nd Shift Test TechnicianThe Test Technician is responsible for being a key contributor to our overall testing team. Working both with internal and external customers. This role includes physical setup of dynamometer systems and customer test parts. Test parts are generally automotive in nature but may be test associated with other industries as well. Test technicians work with test engineers to bring testing systems together and support operations. This role requires the ability to successfully manage tasks and assignments in multiple areas. Initiative and ownership of responsibilities are critical to the success of this individual.QualificationsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Support engineers/customers when neededSetting up test cellsAssemble automotive/propulsion systemsCleaning/Organizing test cells and facilitiesBuilding oil conditioning cartsFabricating and/or machining fixturingKeeping workspace clean (Shop/Trash cans/Fab room)Keeping cells running after shop hoursMaintaining shop inventorySupport troubleshootingOther duties as requestedAssists in supporting the UTAC culture and values (Integrity, Expertise, and Innovation)Education and Skill Requirements:High School degree or equivalent experience2+ years of relevant work experience in the automotive (or other propulsion system) industry preferredFluency in the English language is requiredDemonstrated record of driving resultsStrong problem solving, strategic thinking and analytical skills requiredAble to relay technical information in a way your audience understandsConsistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the jobDemonstrated interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, customers, and suppliersProficient with all Microsoft Office applications and the ability to become proficient in any systems that we use (Concur, Kronos, etc.)Flexibility to support service activity both off-site and outside of normal working hoursOrganize and maintain efficiency of personal work areaWorking knowledge of the automotive industry preferredExperience in the vehicle testing and validation industry preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skills requiredStrong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skillsAble to function as part of a team, with members of varying job levels, and work cooperatively toward team goalsMust have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, customers and suppliersOrganize and maintain efficiency of personal work areaStrong problem solving and analytical skillsValid driver's license and reliable vehicle for traveling between multiple work sites as neededValid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as neededRequired on-site work as needed, per our Remote Work PolicyGive and accept instructions and tasks in a positive manner, treating all co-workers with dignity and respectConsistently adhere to, and support all UTAC policies, procedures, and safety regulationsCandidate recommended to have their own basic automotive tool setStrong attention to detail requiredExceptional work ethic and positive attitude requiredSelf-starter, who can multi-task and possess strong communication skillsAble to function as part of a team, with members of varying job levels, and work cooperatively toward team goalsPhysical Requirements:Exposure to industry accepted chemicals and noiseRegularly required to stand, reach, bend and move about the facilityAble to lift and/or move materials as needed in the performance of assigned dutiesRequirements include, but are not limited to stand, walk, sit, twist, bed, life, see, speak, hearMay require occasional travel (locally, nationally, internationally)Additional InformationFor you, as a potential UTAC team member, we believe that the international and diverse nature of our business combined with the passion, energy and friendliness of our people create a great place to work.
