Parks Maintenance Assistant - 30 Hours/Week

Performs intermediate skilled maintenance and repair work at park facilities and related facilities. Distinguishing Features of the Class. An employee in this class performs maintenance activities at park facilities throughout the County. Work includes maintaining and repairing parks, ball fields, playground equipment, buildings and facilities. This includes repairing tables, grills, and sinks; cleaning restrooms and mowing. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Parks Maintenance Foreman and is evaluated through periodic discussions, observation and quality of work performed. Duties and Responsibilities. Essential Duties and Tasks Repairs and maintains park equipment and buildings. Performs plumbing, masonry, carpentry and minor electrical work. Collects trash and garbage and disposes of same. Mows grass, trims shrubbery and trees. Operates trucks and tractors in grounds preparation and maintenance work.
