As a Resident Engineer, you will take ownership of projects from start to finish.Key ResponsibilitiesInterpret and be able to read and understand design and specifications of aspects related to highways, freeways, interchanges, streets, intersections, and multiuse trailsOversee and lead roadway construction projects and perform various tasks associated with construction management Including the following: working with contractors to identify design issues, field design changes, verify measurements of quantities and pay applications, RFI's, Project schedule, review and accept submittals for material certifications. Also includes working closely with field inspectors to ensure successful project delivery.Work with project managers on client relations, stakeholder coordination, and sub-consultant managementTake ownership of projects from start to finish, with attention to quality, budget, and scheduleInterface with coworkers to achieve shared successAvailability to work onsite days, nights and weekends while projects are ongoingObtain certifications related to construction engineering managementMonitoring construction contractsManaging personnel and budgetSkills, Knowledge and ExpertiseBachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)Licensed EIT required; Nevada PE License preferredMSHA training is required; Horrocks will train candidates that meet qualificationsExperience working on multidisciplinary project teamsSolid background in AASHTO roadway geometric design criteriaProficiency using Autodesk and/or Bentley civil design software preferredDrainage design and/or traffic engineering experience is preferredSolid written and oral communication skillsSelf-motivated, with strong organizational skills and attention to detailProficiency with MS Office applicationsA desire to grow personally and professionally with each project assignmentBenefitsAt Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
