About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Zero (0) to six (6) months of related experience License: Valid multi-state or State Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: 2+ years of experience; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); BLS certified through AHA; NIHSS; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Description: The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care. Utilizes the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating patient functional status. Completes assessment and individualizes plan of care within established nursing guidelines. Carries out nursing care with consideration for cultural and psychosocial factors as well as ages of individual patients. Organizes, prioritizes, and performs nursing skills appropriate for the patient population. Anticipates patient and unit needs. Demonstrates sound knowledge base in bio-psychosocial aspects. Delegates and communicates effectively and appropriately. Demonstrates professional judgment in response to changing patient and unit situations. Documents steps of the nursing process on the appropriate record. Records data concisely, consistently, accurately, and legibly. Utilizes correct medical terminology and abbreviations. Addresses problems and progress toward outcomes according to nursing policy. Facilitates patient teaching and discharge processes. Makes timely and appropriate referrals. Utilizes resources in planning and presenting patient education, considering patient age and cultural and psychosocial factors. Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit goals through performance improvement and educational activities. Attends mandatory in-services and meets education standards. Accurately completes variance reports. Independently makes decisions in planning the sequence of operations and minor decisions in a complex field. Works directly with patients and customers. Engages with internal and external customers. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals and staff.
