This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Berkeley Community Mental Health Center, 403 Stoney Landing Road, Moncks Corner, SC 29461.

Under limited supervision, this position will provide advanced assessments, crisis management, therapeutic interventions, coordination of care, and community outreach in an efficient and effective manner. This position will also perform duties and activities that support the intersection of behavioral healthcare and law enforcement. This position will primarily be located at the Hanahan Police Department.

Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional II - Hanahan Police Department:

• Provide comprehensive and advance level mental health assessments and clinical therapeutic intervention services including, but not limited to: triaging emergencies, answering crisis calls, determining provisional diagnosis, identifying level of service, addressing client needs/goals, providing evidence based clinical interventions, coordinating referrals to appropriate providers. Provide advanced level crisis management services to include on-call services in accordance with Center policies and procedures. Provide services in client centered approach to care. Perform the functions of Center Mental Health Treatment Provider in an efficient manner. Attend to daily schedule of client appointments, ensure clients are seen as often as needed, and address with client barriers to seeking services at BCMHC. Meet Patient Care Hours Standards.
• In conjunction with Access Center, clinical staff, and community partners such as law enforcement, identify persons in need of behavioral healthcare services including those needing SUD treatment; coordinate relevant behavioral healthcare and outreach services, coordinate and participate in outreach activities supporting stigma reduction efforts in the community; track data and make reports regarding program outcomes.
• Participate in activities promoting ongoing professional development and training, providing education/training/outreach to community providers on local resources for MH/SUD, connecting community members to behavioral healthcare resources.
• Complete documentation of pertinent clinical/other information in accordance with QA/QI standards, policies and procedures. Demonstrate use of Collaborative Documentation. Complete and submit clinical documentation that is clear, concise and focuses on client driven care. Meet documentation standards.
• Attend meetings, supervision, and participate on committees or work groups as assigned. Serve as a liaison with other agencies and maintain positive stakeholder satisfaction.
• Adhere to Center, OMH and State Corporate Compliance policies, procedures and regulations. Ensure CARF standards are met for service area.

This position MAY be eligible for SCOMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the appliable position.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

• A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field that is eligible for licensure as an LPC, LISW-CP or LMFT.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
