Position Summary As an Entry Level Risk Analyst, you will work alongside underwriters to evaluate insurance and reinsurance risks from around the world. Through structured training, mentorship, and hands on experience, you will develop the technical knowledge needed to analyze exposures, evaluate underwriting information, and support risk selection decisions. This position is ideal for recent graduates, career changers, or professionals with strong analytical skills who enjoy solving problems, working with data, and making informed business decisions. Key Responsibilities Review insurance and reinsurance submissions. Analyze underwriting information and exposure data. Assist underwriters with evaluating and pricing risks. Review claims histories and loss trends. Prepare underwriting summaries, reports, and presentations. Maintain accurate records within company systems. Communicate professionally with brokers, clients, and internal departments. Data entry into IT platform. Assist with portfolio analysis and special projects. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications College degree preferred (not required), or an equivalent combination of education, professional experience, and demonstrated analytical ability. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Ability to learn new software and technical concepts quickly. Preferred Qualifications Experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas is beneficial but not required: Insurance Finance Accounting Business Administration Economics Mathematics Statistics Risk Management Data Analytics Additional experience with Microsoft Excel functions, PivotTables, or data analysis tools is an asset, as is prior experience in banking, financial services, insurance, or an office environment. Employment Structure & Compensation This position begins as a part-time paid training opportunity designed to provide practical experience and structured instruction in reinsurance underwriting. Training Position Part-time $20.00 per hour Hands on mentoring from experienced underwriting professionals. Successful trainees may be offered a full-time salaried position based on performance, aptitude, and successful completion of the training program.
