Vascular Sonographer

Perform a variety of hemodynamic evaluations to detect obstructions, including carotid duplex ultrasound imaging, arterial duplex imaging, venous duplex imaging, and Doppler ultrasound, plethysmography, pressure measurements, and other methodologies to evaluate patients suspected of having peripheral vascular disease. Provide excellent service to our patients along with a written preliminary interpretation and impression of test results that are complete and accurate. Record and maintain test data.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assess patients condition/information and determine the appropriateness of procedures to be performed.
• Evaluate patients for the presence or absence, severity and location of peripheral vascular disease.
• Record test results and report the results to the physician upon completion of testing.
• Maintain confidentiality of patients, employees, and related activities.
• Maintain equipment to assure conformance with specific operational standards.
• Maintain all necessary supplies (ordering and stocking).
• Instruct and train students, nurses, or other allied health personnel as requested.
• Assure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

• One (1) year of clinical experience in peripheral vascular imaging.

Education:

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration:

• Registered Vascular Specialist Certificate OR Registered Vascular Technologist Certificate
• Basic Life Support

Additional Requirements:

• Use of vascular equipment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two (2) years of clinical experience in peripheral vascular imaging.
