Position Description

Safety Leadership:

• Conduct mandatory daily safety meetings to address potential hazards and reinforce safety protocols.
• Enforce strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies, ensuring a zero-incident job site.
• Proactively identify and mitigate safety risks.

Crew Management & Task Assignment:

• Assign daily tasks to crew members, providing clear and concise instructions.
• Monitor crew performance and provide on-the-spot coaching and feedback.
• Ensure efficient utilization of labor resources

Equipment & Material Management:

• Oversee the proper operation and maintenance of heavy equipment.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report any malfunctions immediately.
• Verify material deliveries and ensure accurate inventory control.
• Manage material storage and usage to minimize waste.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting:

• Track daily work progress and document activities in daily logs.
• Report any deviations from the project schedule or plans to the project superintendent.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed.

Quality Assurance:

• Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets project specifications and quality standards.
• Identify and correct any deficiencies promptly.

Communication & Problem Solving:

• Maintain open and consistent communication with the project superintendent, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Address and resolve on-site issues efficiently, minimizing project disruptions.
• Ensure proper utility location and marking before excavation.
• Oversee confined space entry procedures and compliance.

Project Planning & Coordination:

• Participate in weekly planning meetings with the project superintendent to review progress and plan upcoming tasks.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely and efficient completion of their work.

Reporting & Administration:

• Accurately record crew time and submit daily and weekly reports to the project superintendent.
• Assist in ordering materials and equipment as needed.
• Schedule preventative maintenance for all equipment.

Performance & Safety:

• Provide weekly progress updates to the project superintendent.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of the job site.
• Monitor crew performance and provide feedback.

Key Expectations:
