The Production Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day efforts of the Supervisors and affiliated production staff. S/he will assure safe production and distribution of consistently high-quality products. Ensure compliance with government regulations in employee safety, food safety, environmental, and employment practices. The Production Manager is also responsible for providing the leadership, coaching, and training needed to develop and maintain the competencies, performance, and collaboration of all production employees across three shifts.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage Production Supervisors, Production, and Processor roles.
• Oversight of approximately 100 employees across three shifts.
• Build a strong culture of engagement and belonging.
• Create an environment that can flex to meet the demands of the business; support the retention and development of the team members to deliver a higher level of services and performance.
• Align manufacturing priorities with the goals and objectives of the company.
• Interface with employees at all levels providing improved communication, understanding, and supporting an environment that embraces change and open communication.
• Manage batch processing of products and high-speed packaging lines in support of customer needs.
• Deliver business results through teamwork and continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate with production planning to drive efficiencies and performance.
• Lead a safety-first culture and resolve safety problems in an expedited and efficient manner.
• Support quality related initiatives as required and engage in data analysis to drive improvements.
• Support capital projects and aid in justification of expenditures.
• Support ongoing training and education of all functional roles throughout the site.
• Ensure site compliance with GMP’s and guides staff to maintain a food-safe operation.
• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of direct and indirect employees.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees.

Job Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) years of high-volume, high-mix, manufacturing, and managing people in a foods manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP Systems, preferably SAP
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and a proficiency for learning new systems, including ERP (SAP).
• Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green or Black Belt) a plus.
• Ability to effectively apply intermediate mathematical principals such as probability and statistics.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Foods industry experience is a must have.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
