Job Description

Our client in the State Government sector is seeking an Entry-Level IT Project / Portfolio Analyst to support project and portfolio management activities. This position will assist management with maintaining project information, preparing reports and dashboards, coordinating meetings, and ensuring project documentation remains accurate and up to date.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working with data, and able to use information from multiple sources to prepare meaningful reports for management and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Collect, consolidate, and validate project and portfolio data from multiple sources.
• Prepare weekly and monthly portfolio reports and management dashboards.
• Monitor project financial information, including budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures.
• Coordinate project governance meetings and document meeting notes and action items.
• Track follow-up items and communicate updates to project stakeholders.
• Support portfolio planning, project intake, and prioritization activities.
• Maintain and validate project information within ServiceNow .
• Analyze portfolio data and develop summary reports to help leadership understand project performance.
• Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key metrics.
• Assist with month-end and quarterly reporting activities.
• Prepare reporting materials for portfolio and governance meetings.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data accuracy, and documentation.
• Maintain report definitions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.
• Work with project teams and management to gather required information and resolve data discrepancies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ServiceNow .
• Experience with GitLab .
• Exposure to project management, portfolio management, PMO, or business analysis activities.
• Experience working with project financials, budgets, forecasts, or expenditure tracking.
• Experience creating dashboards, reports, or data visualizations.

Education

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Management, Finance, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Equivalent education and/or relevant professional experience may be considered.
