Shop Welder

Welder Position at Wheeler Machinery Co.Wheeler Machinery Co. is currently seeking a full-time welder to join our team at our Salt Lake City, UT location. In this role, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating a variety of metals, ranging from sheet metal to heavy plate. You will be expected to read and interpret blueprints and build instructions. Perform high-quality welds while meeting or exceeding estimated time requirements. Maintain a strong focus on safety and lead by example. Work collaboratively as part of a team. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in quality and productivity. Be a safety champion within the team, lead and model safe behaviors and drive continued safety improvements.Train a teachable employee in needed areasCollaborate with the manager and team leader to solve problems and provide effective solutionsRead blueprints and identify markingsHorizontal and vertical welding with 1/16 100 series wireRead inside and outside mic'sSet up and weld series of boresFabrication from prints and weld projectsTig weld flat position (Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum)Locate specs from sisOrder partsWriting service reportsPrecision measuringPerform all other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Must be a self-starter.Must be willing to put in extra hours to take care of the customer.Must be a team player and work well with others.Must have a positive, can-do attitude.Must be able to perform tasks without constant supervision.Always keep a safety mindsetMust have a valid driver's license.Overtime may be requiredAbility to have a resolve for problems when they arise.
