As a Vascular Technologist, you are responsible for performing ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in all areas of ultrasound. You will operate ultrasound equipment to provide and document accurate and quality sonographic studies of normal and abnormal anatomy. You will perform ultrasound exams including Abdominal, OB, GYN, Small Parts, Prostates, and Vascular Scans. Demonstrates anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner.
- Identify upper/lower extremity venous anatomy, extra cranial and intracranial anatomy, upper/lower extremity arterial anatomy and collateral venous pathways in presence of disease
- Perform upper/lower extremity Venous Duplex protocol for DVT or Venous Insufficiency, Carotid Duplex exam protocol, protocol for upper/lower extremity arterial flow exam
- Produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric
- Relay to Radiologist any relevant patient information
- Complete required documentation on forms, logs and in computer
- Label images and identify according to protocol.
- Obtain all pertinent patient history, and relay it to the Radiologist to assist in diagnosis or treatment
- Review written orders, assess patient identification and ensure indicators are appropriate prior to procedure
- Clean exam tables and restock Ultrasound supplies as needed or used
- Sterilize trans-vaginal transducer according to established protocol
- Complete the charge processing for individual patient care items, drugs and exams
