About the Role:

The Assistant General Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager to ensure the seamless operation of the hotel. This position is responsible for overseeing daily activities across multiple departments, ensuring high standards of hospitality, safety, and operational efficiency. The Assistant General Manager contributes to strategic planning, particularly in pre-opening phases, and implements yield management techniques to maximize revenue. They are instrumental in identifying and resolving operational challenges promptly to maintain guest satisfaction and optimize food and labor costs. Ultimately, this role ensures that the hotel operates profitably while delivering exceptional service and maintaining compliance with safety procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel management or a similar hospitality leadership role.
• Proven knowledge of yield management and food cost control practices.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulatory compliance in the hospitality industry.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and solve operational problems effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in hotel pre-opening projects.
• Certification in hospitality management or related professional credentials.
• Advanced skills in financial management and budgeting within a hotel environment.
• Experience with staff training and development programs.
• Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) and hospitality software.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily hotel operations to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
• Manage and coordinate activities related to hospitality management, including guest services, housekeeping, and food and beverage departments.
• Implement and monitor yield management strategies to optimize room occupancy and revenue.
• Oversee food cost controls and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines while maintaining quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
• Lead problem-solving initiatives to address operational issues and improve overall hotel performance.
• Support pre-opening activities including staff recruitment, training, and operational setup for new hotel properties.
• Monitor repetitive motions and workflow processes to enhance staff productivity and reduce workplace injuries.
