Wastewater Treatment Electrician – Electrical and Instrumentation Technician The Sanitation Districts own and operate one of the largest wastewater recycling programs in the world. This position is located at the A.K. Warren Water Resource Facility in Carson and offers an opportunity to work on complex electrical and instrumentation systems while protecting the environment and advancing professional growth. Job Summary Assemble, install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, digital, and analog control equipment and systems. Operate and maintain pneumatic and electronic testing and measuring instruments. Maintain records, prepare reports on maintenance and repair work, and coordinate calibration readings. Order parts, supplies, and equipment, and advise on parts selection. Train lower‑level apprentices and support their skill development. Read, interpret, and prepare schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, and equipment specifications. Perform related mathematics calculations required for the trade. Drive to new construction sites and conduct inspections as required. Maintain the shop area and equipment, and perform any other duties necessary to the role. Minimum Qualifications Four years of progressively responsible experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation, computer process control, and electrical equipment and systems. Alternatively, two years of experience can be substituted for twelve units of college coursework or completion of a one‑year, two‑year degree or certification program in instrumentation, electronics, or electrical technology. Knowledge of theories, principles, practices, tools, math formulas, and safety considerations used in the installation and repair of control equipment and plant systems. Ability to use specialized tools, perform troubleshooting, read schematics and blueprints, maintain accurate records, and instruct apprentices. Work Schedule 9/80 work schedule: Monday–Thursday 6:00 am–3:30 pm; Friday 6:00 am–2:30 pm. Occasional after‑hours work, overtime, and weekend call‑backs may be required and will be compensated accordingly.
