You will be a Flight Manual - Technical Publications Writer - Level 4. What You Will Be Doing This role involves authoring flight manual instructions for a complex aircraft. The writer will lead Avionics and Flight Manual development, utilizing hands‑on experience in aeronautics technical publications. Key Responsibilities Effectively work with multiple engineering, flight test and customer support representatives. Utilize engineering technical data to develop flight manuals and maintenance instructions. Work closely with customer representatives to exceed expectations within the scope of the program. Work with a team and independently to develop and deliver technically accurate maintenance documentation. Verify and certify technical publications content to ensure corrective measures are met and documentation is compliant with requirements. Communicate with engineering and customers to fulfill program requirements. Qualifications Authoring experience with military or commercial flight manuals. Experience developing and authoring digital technical publications. Experience interfacing with operational and maintenance personnel in dynamic operational work environments. Experience interpreting complex technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, or specifications. Aircraft operation or avionics maintenance background. Desired Skills Experience with Arbortext. Familiarity with S1000D International Specification for Technical Publications (knowledge of element and attribute XML tagging, applicability, change management, and requirements for S1000D‑compliant interactive electronic publications). Experience evaluating technical order changes. Understanding of aircraft inspection requirements. Experience with electronic technical publications task relationships. Ability to work as liaison with internal and external customers. Additional Information Some travel may be required; telecommuting is not possible. The position can be located in Palmdale, CA; Fort Worth, TX; or Marietta, GA. Security clearance: US citizen required; clearance level Secret with investigation or CV date within five years.
