About the Role:
Brite Light Residential Services in Pittsburgh, PA is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join their team. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
• Assist residents with personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and household tasks
• Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
• Facilitate community integration activities and accompany individuals to appointments and outings
• Administer medications and follow health care protocols as directed
• Promote resident independence, dignity, and self-advocacy at all times
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED 
• Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation must 
• Ability to pass background clearances including PA Child Abuse History and FBI clearance
• Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and person-centered approach
• Willingness to complete required DSP training and certifications (CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration)
• Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
