Security Officer

Location: Glenwood Springs, CO Employment Type: Part-Time Pay: $18.50 per hour Schedule: Multi-Shift Coverage Position Summary Citadel Security USA is looking for a dependable Multi-Shift Security Officer to provide part-time coverage at assignments throughout the Glenwood Springs, Rifle, and Grand Junction areas . This position is designed for someone who can adapt to changing schedules and work locations. Officers help fill open shifts, provide coverage when regular personnel are unavailable, and assist with temporary or special staffing needs. The role offers an opportunity to work at different locations while supporting consistent security coverage. The successful candidate should be dependable, observant, comfortable working independently, and able to adjust quickly to different site instructions and operating procedures. What You Will Do Shift Coverage & Security Duties Report to assigned locations as scheduled and provide dependable shift coverage. Perform routine walking patrols and property checks based on assignment requirements. Monitor designated areas for unusual conditions, unauthorized activity, or potential safety concerns. Maintain an active and professional security presence throughout each assignment. Become familiar with location-specific procedures before beginning assigned duties. Assist with temporary coverage needs, open shifts, vacations, call-offs, and special assignments. Observation & Documentation Pay close attention to activity, conditions, and changes occurring within assigned areas. Identify and report suspicious behavior, property damage, hazards, or other concerns. Record patrol activity and noteworthy observations in required logs. Prepare incident reports when an event requires additional documentation. Submit reports accurately and within required timeframes. Communicate important information to the appropriate supervisor or operations contact. Communication & Public Interaction Interact respectfully with employees, clients, visitors, tenants, and members of the public. Provide basic assistance or directions when appropriate. Maintain a calm and professional approach when addressing questions or concerns. Notify supervisors when an issue requires additional support. Maintain clear communication throughout assigned shifts. Flexibility & Professional Standards Adjust to different locations, schedules, post orders, and operating procedures. Follow assignment-specific instructions and established company procedures. Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled shifts. Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic. Safeguard confidential information encountered while performing assigned duties. Work responsibly with limited supervision when assigned to a location independently. Required Qualifications Ability to work varying shifts based on operational coverage needs. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Strong observation and situational-awareness skills. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Comfortable working independently at different assignments. Ability to adapt to changing work locations and procedures. Ability to successfully complete required background screening. Preferred Qualifications Previous security or patrol experience. Customer service or other public-facing work experience. Experience working independently or across multiple locations. Familiarity with activity reports and incident documentation. Strong problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills. Ability to remain composed when handling unexpected situations.
