Join a supportive healthcare team and advance your telemetry and critical care skills while enjoying Lake Erie views./n /n/nJob Details/n /n - Location: Lorain, Ohio (44053) — Lorain nursing jobs / Ohio RN jobs/n - Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Travel Contract)/n - Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 – $1,890/n - Shift: 12-hour nights (PM); every other weekend and every other holiday required/n - Hours per Week: 36/n - Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown (1W), 33 beds/n - Patient Ratios: 1:5–6 on nights (acuity dependent)/n - Start Date: June 1, 2026/n - End Date: August 31, 2026/n /n/nQualifications / Job Requirements/n /n - Active RN license in Ohio or compact state (Ohio RN license preferred)/n - Minimum 2 years recent PCU / Stepdown / telemetry nursing experience/n - Current BLS and ACLS; NIH Stroke certification required/n - Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide available)/n - Ability to read and verify telemetry strips in EPIC EHR/n - Navy blue scrubs required/n - Previous travel nursing experience is a plus but not required/n /n/nResponsibilities/n /n - Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, interpret data, and develop individualized care plans for PCU / stepdown patients/n - Provide cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition; act on critical changes per protocol/n - Administer medications and manage continuous drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Lasix, Heparin, Insulin)/n - Care for patients with vascular access and devices (PICC, dialysis catheters), enteral devices (PEG, NG), ostomies, chest tubes, wound VACs/n - Manage advanced respiratory support including tracheostomies, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow and various nasal cannulas/n - Coordinate interdisciplinary care, provide patient and family education, and serve as a patient advocate/n - Document all assessments and interventions accurately in EPIC EHR/n - Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and unit-based performance goals/n /n/n /n Why Lorain, OH: Live near Lake Erie with easy access to parks, waterfront activities, and a welcoming community—ideal for travel nurses and RNs seeking a balance of professional growth and quality of life.
