Facilities Maintenance Technician

The City of Brentwood is seeking a dependable and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain City buildings, facilities, and grounds.

This is a hands-on maintenance position with a variety of work that helps keep City facilities safe, functional, and operating efficiently. Work includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, general building repairs, work order response, and support for inspections, projects, and contractor coordination.

The ideal candidate:

• Has hands-on experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, mechanical repair, or a related trade
• Enjoys a variety of work and can shift between priorities as needed
• Can troubleshoot common maintenance issues and complete quality work safely and efficiently
• Works well independently and as part of a team
• Is dependable, takes pride in their work, and helps keep buildings safe, functional, and in good working order
• Communicates professionally with supervisors, contractors, and City staff

Minimum Training and Experience Required:

Vocational or technical training in building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or a related field preferred. Two years of experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, mechanical repair, or a closely related field is preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

A valid Driver's License is required. Experience operating hand tools, power tools, ladders, and general maintenance equipment is required.

Due to the nature of this position, selected candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting, as a condition of employment.
