divh2Pulmonary Critical Care/Adult ICU Advanced Practice Provider/h2pRush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Pulmonary Critical Care/Adult ICU Advanced Practice Provider./ppThis provider will join a team of both physicians and APPs on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule that provides 24/7 care to critically ill medical patients at the Rush main campus. This opportunity will require an anticipated 12-14 shifts per month. APPs will work autonomously and in collaboration with Rush pulmonary/critical care attending physicians and fellows and will be required to perform a number of procedures including central line placements, paracentesis and temporary hemodialysis catheter placements, among other duties./ppThere are more than 400 APPs employed across the Rush system. The AICU team is fully staffed with 9 APPs. We work closely with many departments (palliative care, hepatology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, etc.) as part of a multidisciplinary approach in the ICU./ph3Duties Responsibilities/h3ulliWe require 12-14 shifts per month on a rotating basis. Some holidays and weekends will be required./liliThe AICU is a 28-bed unit that is staffed by both medical and surgical ICU teams./liliThis position is 100% inpatient./li/ulh3Preferred Qualifications/h3ulliApplicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in the ICU is strongly preferred. Relevant RN experience may be considered./liliAPRN Candidates will require Acute Care Certification./li/ulh3Position Requirements/h3pNurse Practitioner:/pulliCurrent licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process/liliMaster of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position/liliCurrent certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP)/liliCPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications/li/ulpPhysician Assistant:/pulliCurrent licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process/liliSuccessful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program/liliCurrent certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants/liliCPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications/li/ulpThe Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care.
