As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients while enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.Required Qualifications:One years' recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RNValid RN license in compliance with state regulationsCurrent BLS certification (AHA/ARC)NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) CertificationPreferred Qualifications:AWHONN Fetal Monitoring CertificationSTABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA / ARC)Other certifications and licenses may be required for this positionSummary:The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care in the obstetric setting. This role encompasses assessing maternal and fetal health, administering treatments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. The position requires strong clinical skills in obstetrics, critical thinking abilities, excellent communication, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and professional ethics.Essential Work Functions:Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concernsAdminister prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniquesPrepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patientsProvide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newbornEducate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn careCollaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive careRespond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence-based protocolsDocument patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical recordParticipate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomesPerform fetal monitoring and interpret resultsAssist in cesarean sections and other obstetric proceduresComply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing carePerform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursingRequired Essential Skills:Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skillsThe ability to read, write, and communicate in the English languageAbility to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skillsPhysical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bendInterpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipmentMental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
