HVAC Technician / Electrician

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting and installing HVAC systems, electrical equipment and related building systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• HS Diploma or GED
• Valid Texas Driver's License
• Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance and installation
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics and written reference material
• Applicant must live within school district, or be within a reasonable driving distance to answer after-hour or weekend calls when necessary.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under general supervision, maintain, repair and install heating and air conditioning systems and equipment throughout the district
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various types of heating and air conditioning systems
• Repair, replace or calibrate controls including thermostats and switches
• Install new heating and a/c systems and components and relocate and expand existing systems as needed
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for all HVAC equipment, including changing of filters and cleaning condensors and coils
• Receive and complete work orders
• Other duties as assigned
