Applications Engineer

Salary: $63,000 - 103,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
• We look for at least 3 years of experience in applications engineering, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a similar technical position.
• We need strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and structured problem-solving skills.
• We require the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• We expect experience interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• We require the ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10-20%.
• We require a valid U.S. passport or the ability to obtain one.
• Preferred experience includes medical device manufacturing.
• Preferred experience includes catheter manufacturing processes such as tipping, flaring, bonding, drilling, or related techniques.
• Preferred knowledge includes process validation, DOE, capability analysis, and statistical methods.
• Preferred experience includes CAD software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
• Preferred familiarity includes ISO 13485, FDA Quality System Regulations, and regulated manufacturing environments.
• Preferred knowledge includes polymers and materials used in catheter and tubing applications, including Pebax, Nylon, PTFE, and FEP.

• We partner with customers to understand manufacturing challenges and recommend process and equipment solutions.
• We conduct proof-of-concept testing and process development in our Applications Lab.
• We develop, validate, and optimize manufacturing processes for catheter and medical device applications.
• We troubleshoot technical and process-related issues and perform root cause analysis.
• We program, test, and validate equipment before customer acceptance and shipment.
• We prepare technical reports and present recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders.
• We collaborate with Engineering and R&D to improve machine capabilities, tooling, and automation.
• We train customers and internal teams on equipment operation, process control, and best practices.
• We support continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, productivity, and innovation.
