Worship Leader

Redeemer Church is a gospel-centered church that exists to make disciples and plant churches. Everything we do—from Sunday worship to neighborhood mission, from pastoral care to theological training—is aimed at seeing people transformed by the gospel and sent out to make more disciples. Job Summary The Worship & Creative Arts Director exists to help Redeemer Church make disciples and plant churches by creating environments where people encounter the gospel, respond to Jesus, and are equipped to live on mission. This role combines musical worship leadership and creative communication, requiring both a strong musical leader and a highly creative, organized operator. Musically, this role assists the existing worship leader while taking more ownership in college, student, and kids ministries. Creatively, this role owns and executes content and management of creative things. This role was previously filled by our current Executive Pastor, and this opening is part of a healthy transition as our church grows and staff team responsibilities change. Primary Responsibilities 1. Musical Worship Leadership Regularly lead worship in student ministry, kids ministry, and college ministry. Help lead worship in Sunday gatherings, special services, conferences, and other Redeemer gatherings as needed. Help cultivate a worship culture that is Christ-centered, gospel-saturated, biblically grounded, excellent, and participatory. Select and arrange songs that support the theological and pastoral direction of each service. Oversee and orchestrate musical arrangements. Coordinate worship teams and service elements through Planning Center. Work closely with pastors and the production team to ensure ministry gatherings are prepared, rehearsed, and executed effectively. Participate in worship rehearsals, run-throughs, and service planning. 2. Creative Arts Redeemer believes that engaging content helps people see the stories of what God is doing in and through His church. This role will help capture, create, and communicate those stories. Develop and execute a creative strategy that supports Redeemer's mission of making disciples and planting churches. Personally capture, as well as oversee a volunteer team who is capturing high-quality photography and videography of worship services, ministries, events, people, baptisms, community life, and church-wide moments. Recruit and develop creative volunteers who can contribute photography, video, design, storytelling, and social media skills. Produce and edit compelling video content for social media, services, website, etc. Identify and capture stories of life change, discipleship, missions, church planting, and gospel impact. Manage and develop Redeemer's social media presence in partnership with the broader communications strategy. Create content that reflects Redeemer's theology, culture, mission, and personality. Recruit, equip, schedule, and lead volunteers across both musical worship and creative arts. Develop a culture where volunteers are spiritually cared for, challenged, valued, and excited to serve. Provide clear expectations, feedback, encouragement, and accountability. Help create a culture of excellence without sacrificing joy, grace, or people. Qualifications & Skills Music Skills Demonstrated ability to sing and lead worship with both energy and Christ-centered humility. Strong musical knowledge and the ability to lead skilled musicians. Proficiency with Planning Center and related worship-planning systems. Ability to oversee and orchestrate musical arrangements. Strong understanding of rhythm, harmony, instrumentation, dynamics, and song structure. Creative Skills Experience with videography and video editing. Ability to tell compelling stories through photo, video, and written content. Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital communication. Creative thinker who can generate ideas while also executing them. Ability to recognize meaningful moments and turn them into compelling content. Work Habits Detail-oriented and organized while still able to see the big picture. A self-starter who is disciplined and productive when working without direct supervision. A high-capacity operator who can spin several plates. Trustworthy, diplomatic, and gracious in relationships. Teachable and willing to receive feedback. Passionate about the local church and committed to its mission. Character Have a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
