Bus DriverThe YMCA of Central Texas is seeking bus drivers for our summer camp in Round Rock, TX. The bus driver provides safe transportation to and from program sites while maintaining a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals.We are offering $260 bonus for new staff!Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director of Camp Round Rock, the bus driver is responsible for the successful implementation and completion of the following tasks:Drives bus safely according to YMCA policies and procedures, and state lawsMaintain safety precautions when participants are boarding and departing the busResponsible for the safety and well-being of children in their careCreates a safe environment in which others feel welcome and respectedPromotes safety at all times and keeps first aid supplies fully stockedAbsolutely ensures that the bus is empty of passengers at the end of each shiftDevelops and maintains positive relationships and maintains effective communication with parents, participants and other staff at all levels of the organizationEnsures that bus rules are announced and followed by passengersCompletes thorough before-and-after trip checks each day and records all information, such as gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated formsCleans out bus each dayMust be reliable with a good attendance recordAttends staff meetings and trainings, as requiredPerforms all other duties as assignedMust possess the following:Must have and maintain a valid driver license; larger capacity vans/buses require a commercial driver's license during employmentKnowledge of the rules/guidelines related to commercial passenger vehicles (bus)At least one-year work experience as a school bus driver preferredBasic computer skills are required to record time & attendance and read emailComplete child abuse prevention training prior to first day of workCPR, first aid, AED certifications within 30 days of hire dateMust complete required training hours on an annual basisPrevious experience with diverse populations preferredAbility to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgroundsPay rate: $22.00-$25.00/hourAbout us: We are a not-for-profit services association focusing on mission driven initiatives, with a vision of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities throughout 7 Texas counties.
