The Assembler plays a key role in building large industrial generators and related equipment from initial components to finished products. This position involves assembling motors, fans, pipelines, and electrical wiring according to detailed blueprints and schematics, using a variety of hand, power, and pneumatic tools. The role also includes crating completed products for shipment and performing tasks that require lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assemble large industrial generators from start to finished product following detailed instructions and specifications.
• Build and install motors, fans, pipelines, and electrical wiring as part of complete generator systems.
• Work directly from customer-specific blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate and customized assembly.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools safely and efficiently during all stages of assembly.
• Perform crating and packaging of completed products as needed to prepare items for shipment or storage.
• Lift and move components and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
• Work at heights using ladders when required to access and assemble components.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to a safe and efficient production environment.
• Collaborate with trainers and team members to learn and follow established assembly processes and quality standards.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures in an open bay/warehouse production environment.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of experience in large product mechanical assembly, such as industrial equipment or automotive work.
• Minimum 6 months of experience using hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools in a production or mechanical setting.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints and schematics to complete assembly tasks accurately.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Comfort working on ladders and at heights when required for assembly tasks.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail in assembling complex systems.
• Ability to follow established procedures and safety guidelines in a production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience as a car mechanic or in automotive repair is highly relevant and considered a strong asset.
• Familiarity with industrial generators, motors, or related equipment is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with trainers and team members.
• Willingness to learn new assembly processes and adapt to evolving customer requirements.

Work Environment

The role is based in a recently built, temperature-controlled open bay/warehouse production facility with very good lighting and a clean, well-maintained work floor. Employees work on first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 3:30 p.m., with the shorter shift typically used during the training period. On the first day, employees start at 6:00 a.m. and are paired with a trainer to ensure a smooth onboarding experience. The workspace allows employees to listen to music while working, contributing to a comfortable and focused atmosphere. Work is performed using hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools in a production setting, with an emphasis on cleanliness, safety, and organization.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Mankato, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
