Process Safety Specialist

Becton Dickinson seeks a Process Safety Specialist for its El Paso, Texas manufacturing facility to oversee Process Safety Management programs, conduct hazard analyses, and ensure OSHA PSM compliance. The role involves developing safety initiatives, leading technical reviews, and managing high-hazard operations.

Responsibilities

Develop, execute, and oversee Process Safety Management programs for high-hazard operations
Conduct and lead PHA/HAZOP studies for existing and new processes and process changes
Track safety key performance indicators and report progress to operations leadership
Lead root cause analysis investigations for incidents and near misses
Manage site Management of Change process and pre-startup safety reviews

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Safety and Health, or equivalent
Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience with 2+ years handling hazardous substances
Knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management regulations and compliance requirements
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills for cross-functional collaboration
Ability to conduct process hazard analyses and hazard and operability studies
Experience with root cause analysis, incident investigation, and safety audits
