HVAC Installation Technician

General Job Description The HVAC Installation Technician supports the installation of residential and or light commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals starting their HVAC career who are eager to learn the trade, develop technical skills, and gain hands‑on experience under the guidance of experienced technicians. The technician assists with equipment installation, jobsite preparation, and system setup while adhering to safety and quality standards. Primary Responsibilities Assist in the installation of HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, thermostats, and related components. Support senior technicians with jobsite setup, material handling, and equipment staging. Follow installation plans, manufacturer specifications, and company procedures. Perform basic measurements, cutting, and material assembly as instructed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Properly use, maintain, and care for tools, equipment, and company vehicles. Learn and follow local building codes, safety regulations, and HVAC best practices. Communicate professionally with team members and, when appropriate, customers. Minimum Education None Minimum Years of Experience 0-2 Specific Qualifications & Required Skills and Abilities Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools. Ability to follow instructions, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures. Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and jobsite environments. Strong communication skills with a positive, professional attitude. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs, with or without assistance. Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb ladders for extended periods. Ability to work in confined spaces, including attics, basements, crawlspaces, and rooftops. Manual dexterity to safely operate tools and handle small components. Visual and auditory ability to safely perform installation tasks and identify hazards. Ability to safely operate and drive a vehicle.
