Industrial Maintenance Supervisor

Overview The maintenance supervisor is to assist and ensure that the maintenance crew completes all scheduled work in a timely, efficient, responsible and safe manner. The work includes repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment including buildings, grounds, and utility systems as well as any other company assets in need of service or repair. When break-in or emergency work occurs, the supervisor is expected to take the lead in addressing the situation and report to management with a response plan (time, materials, labor). Key Responsibilities Assist and ensure the maintenance crew completes all scheduled work in a timely, efficient, responsible and safe manner. Include repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, including buildings, grounds, and utility systems, as well as other company assets in need of service or repair. Lead break-in or emergency work situations and report to management with a response plan (time, materials, labor). Provide tools, resources, coaching and direction to the crew to meet objectives; responsibilities may be shared with the crew. Be accountable to the maintenance manager for the safety and performance of the maintenance workforce, completion of scheduled work, and quick response to break-in and emergency work. Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental practices; participate in safety audits and promote safe work practices. Is relocation available: Yes, nationwide This position has direct reports: Yes Non-Negotiable Requirements 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing process environment 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment 3+ years industrial maintenance experience with fans, material handling equipment (screw and belt conveyors / bucket elevators / airlocks / pneumatic conveying systems) 480-volt electrical distribution experience Experience with precision maintenance techniques and their practical application Experience with CMMS systems (computer skills: entering work hours, work orders, parts usage, etc.) Nice-to-Have Skills Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) familiarity Essential Job Functions Be proactive in evaluating, prioritizing, and overseeing maintenance work; coordinate with Production Supervisor to ensure processing equipment is available and performs as required to meet customer demand. Supervise service and repair of mobile equipment (e.g., forklifts, man-lifts, scissor-lifts, light-duty maintenance vehicles). Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance plans are performed comprehensively and timely. Collaborate with Maintenance Manager to identify workforce requirements, training and development; create plans to address needs and supervise training of crew members. Support staffing needs by participating in interviewing, hiring, and development; ensure adherence to inventory control policies. Manage weekly work schedule, timesheets, payroll time entry, time-off requests, and absentee reporting. Ensure lubrication routes are completed as scheduled and continue use of 5S principles. Oversee plant upgrades and equipment installations to be safe, high-quality and on schedule. Hold team members accountable to work management practices, use of work orders, inventory usage, and maintenance inspections. Enter time, notes, and parts in the CMMS (IFS) and manage work orders from released to completed status. Respond promptly to priority 1, 2 & 3 fault reports/work orders. Ensure spare parts are available and inventory control policies are followed. Engage hourly maintenance crew in continuous improvement and root-cause analysis to improve reliability and availability. Ensure rail car maintenance is performed according to policy and customer satisfaction. Develop and implement new methods and procedures to improve maintenance services, minimize costs, and improve safety and efficiency. Ensure crew has tools, equipment, supplies, and resources needed to perform work safely and responsibly. Uphold health, safety, and environmental practices of the maintenance crew; comply with federal, state and MSHA regulations. Conduct safety compliance audits and promote a culture of safe work practices. Investigation of incidents within the maintenance department; perform additional duties as assigned. Education, Experience, and Skills 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing process environment 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment 3+ years industrial maintenance experience with fans and material handling equipment Experience with CMMS systems and reliability-centered maintenance concepts (RCM) and 5S Strong analytical, organizational and troubleshooting skills; ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, process flow, P&IDs Effective written and verbal communication; able to interact with supervisors, suppliers, contractors and employees Ability to adapt to changes and provide coverage for other supervisors (vacations/absences) #J-18808-Ljbffr
