Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care. Supports scheduling of personnel to provide adequate coverage during all hours of operation, using flexible staffing when appropriate. Serves as a resource to department staff and other team members as needed. Performs team member orientation, training, and coaching, and provides input for performance evaluations. Promotes a positive patient experience by ensuring service excellence, effective communication, and the delivery of timely, high-quality care by the team. Oversees quality control testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting. Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions. Stays current with evolving MR safety standards and participating in ongoing education to support departmental safety culture. Performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols to ensure diagnostic image quality and patient safety. Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions, promoting comfort and cooperation throughout the exam. Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages. Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications (e.g., implanted devices, metal, claustrophobia, contrast allergies). Screens all patients, staff, and equipment for MRI safety compliance per facility policy and current safety standards, including completion of required screening documentation.
