Details PACU unit within a large, short-term acute care academic teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center with 1,266 staffed beds Surgical patient population including GU, GYN, colorectal, minimally invasive, bariatric, some ENT, and IR pre/post procedures Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, Monday–Friday Night shift nurses are expected to pre-op patients for first cases from 5:30–7:30 AM when no PACU patients are present On-call required: 24 hours of call per 6-week scheduling period No weekend requirements Floating within service line required to meet facility needs Block scheduling is not available Charting performed in Epic (experience required) Navy scrubs required Requirements Active MO RN license or compact RN license valid in Missouri required at time of consideration Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS Proficiency with ventilator management, IV insertion, and telemetry interpretation required Must pass a Relias EKG exam; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required Minimum 1 year of PACU or critical care experience required, preferably from a Level I Trauma Center Epic EMR experience required Proficiency managing complex postoperative patients including multiple drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation Travelers may remain at this health system for up to 18 months, after which a 3‑month break in service is required Former permanent employees of this health system must wait 1 year before returning as a travel clinician Monthly parking passes are available for purchase through the facility's Public Safety department; night shift workers park at no charge in employee parking American Traveler Job ID #P-713857.
