Sonographer I: Cardiology (Part-Time)

Shift and Compensation Shift: Part time as needed between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM with call required. One summer holiday per year, one winter holiday per year, one weekend per month or one weekend call shift every other week. Department: Cardiology Clinic – Jefferson City, Missouri Base Pay Range: $32.82 – $53.57 per hour, based on experience. About the Job MU Health Care is seeking a passionate and dedicated professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of data flow within the modality work area and a proactive approach to improving systems and services. The role requires providing instruction to residents, fellows, students, and staff on ultrasonography equipment and procedures. The candidate must interact with patients following the AIDET principles (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Expectation, and Thank You), ensuring confidentiality and maintaining current certifications and licensure. Punctuality and adherence to attendance guidelines are essential. Detailed Job Description Responsibilities include articulating a precise understanding of how data flows in and out of the modality work area, monitoring patient satisfaction results, collaborating with the management team on improvement initiatives, maintaining equipment integrity, completing required quality control checks, assisting the Medical Physicist with additional quality assurance testing, and performing unit/department‑specific duties as outlined in department documents. Required Qualifications Registry eligible. Sonography‑related certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within two (2) years as a condition of continued employment in this job classification. Preferred Qualifications Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. Physical Demands The position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 pounds. It also routinely involves contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. The position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
