About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (1900 - 0730) Experience: One year of recent acute care RN experience required License: Current RN license in state of practice required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring course required on hire and every two years for experienced nurses Job Summary: Perform the professional functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Coordinate, manage, provide, and delegate patient care. Be responsible for meeting established Standards of Nursing Practice and promoting cooperation among the healthcare team. Essential Functions: Actively participate in committees and encourage actions that promote good guest relations with patients, families, and co-workers. Listen, observe, act, and follow through to completion. Maintain current professional licenses and/or certifications as required by state or facility mandate. Treat every co-worker as a professional and demonstrate reliability as evidenced by attendance and punctuality. Complete work within the allotted time and demonstrate skill in the use of equipment, including its capabilities and limitations. Use effective communication with physicians, patients, families, and employees. Improves quality through continuing education and recognizes individuals' differences. Maintain confidentiality of all hospital-related matters. Report safety hazards, accidents, and injuries promptly. Conduct all business within the highest standard of ethical behavior. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
