Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: These duties include the following tasks: Communication: Must be able to communicate verbally in crisis situations with team members, patients, and family members to produce quality interaction. Teamwork: Work with an EMT or Paramedic partner to form solutions to unique problems, respecting input and reaching a common goal. Quality/Safety: Must adhere to safety policies and procedures and act safely at all times in potentially unsafe conditions, including accident scenes or businesses and homes. Job Knowledge: Act within the appropriate guidelines and scope of practice for the Paramedic role. Does not operate outside of the scope without online medical direction from the ED physician. Financial Stewardship: Maintain accurate supply levels, appropriate use of equipment, keep vehicles in good working order, and perform daily preventative maintenance checks. Problem Solving: Under pressure analyze problems to identify underlying issues and determine a course of action for patient care. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma GED Accredited Program Other (Preferred) Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC‑ALS – American Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS‑I – ACLS Instructor BLS – Basic Life Support or ARC‑BLS – American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS‑I – Basic Life Support Instructor PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support or ARC‑PALS – American Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS‑I – PALS Instructor PARA – Paramedic GADL – Georgia Driver’s License Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 1 year as an Emergency Medical Technician (preferred).
