Communications Account Manager

Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Account Manager to join their global team in San Francisco. This is an exciting opportunity to work with high-growth tech startups, top-tier VCs, and Fortune 500s across fintech, sustainability, deep tech, web3, Crypto, AI, VC, and B2B enterprise. In this hands-on role, you will lead day-to-day account operations, drive creative communications strategies, and manage and mentor a team - all while working with some of the most innovative companies and investors in the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations across accounts, managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Drive creative, strategic communications plans that consistently deliver results for clients
  • Secure top-tier media coverage across broadcast, print, and online outlets including Bloomberg, Fortune, WSJ, NYT, CNN, CNBC,TechCrunch and key West Coast tech publications such as Wired and The Information
  • Leverage established journalist relationships to generate coverage and opportunities
  • Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment
  • Manage client relationships, lead client calls, plan news announcements, and deliver end-of-month reporting and strategy execution

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in the PR industry, agency or in-house
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record managing high-profile corporate clients
  • Deep understanding of the tech media landscape and ability to identify relevant trends
  • Solid knowledge of today's key tech topics, from AI to sustainability to blockchain
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • Established media relationships with top-tier journalists
  • Knowledge in one or more practice areas: B2B Enterprise, Deep Tech, Fintech, Future of Work, Venture Capital, Sustainability, or Web3
  • Experience pitching and winning new business
  • Deep sectoral knowledge in any of the above areas

Compensation (Guide)

  • Base salary (dependent on experience) & Bonus package with a full benefits package including healthcare, pension, hybrid working, wellness budget, and more
