Responsibilities Perform assigned system service and maintenance, including preventive maintenance, commissioning, and installation. Troubleshoot and resolve security systems (intrusion, access control, IP video, intercom, network, gates, barriers, etc.). Diagnose and repair complex electronic control system malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital control systems, with ability to test and write modifications in multiple system software languages. Provide sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings. Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Meet regularly with customers to become familiar with operating problems, keep them informed on the nature of service, recommend enhancements, upgrades, or repairs, and promote sale of add‑on work. Manage assigned work to meet professional execution, on time and customer satisfaction. Report problems or changes to management immediately. Work with branch manager, service manager, service project manager or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities ethically and professionally. Adhere to all Johnson Controls and customer safety standards. Provide safety awareness on work sites, may provide training to customers on electronic control systems operations, deliver manuals and documentation for training needs. Mentor and train mechanical workforce on building automation systems; provide support to mechanical staff on non‑complex, non‑critical equipment. Compile job documentation such as certificate of completion, customer training forms, training certificates and punch lists. Conduct extensive self‑study to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company product lines; complete certifications as required by the company. Qualifications 3–5 years of industry experience servicing electronic systems, or equivalent. Knowledge of low‑voltage controls systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques. Effective interpersonal skills; ability to represent Johnson Controls to customers and other contacts ethically. Ability to explain technical information to technical and non‑technical people. Leadership skills to support activities of technicians and subcontractors on building automation equipment. PC experience and ability to program in System, American Dynamics, Avigilon, Lenel, Genetec, Kantech, Amag and others. Preferred: Vocational school, four‑year program or associate degree in electronics, systems, computer technology, or similar field with three years of industry experience, or five years of experience servicing electronic industry. Proficient in Networking & Servicer Software; IFC notifier experience. Salary and Benefits Hourly range: $30–$40. This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role; exceptional candidates may be considered beyond the range as appropriate.
