Outside Sales Manager

Role Overview As an Outside Sales Manager, you are responsible for driving territory sales and facilitating growth within your market and accounts. You will lead several Account Managers and ensure they have the tools and skills to meet or exceed established corporate goals in regard to territory sales and growing sales profitably. The role requires extensive travel within your assigned geographic territory to work with the account management team and to call on direct ownership accounts. This is a remote position but the candidate must reside in Iowa or Illinois. Roles and Responsibilities Meet or exceed sales goals and profit margin targets established within the market. Develop and execute a sales program that reflects a strong understanding of what drives profitability. Forecast sales and profits while being held accountable for performance on a consistent basis. Prepare strategically defined sales plans and programs to expand the company’s sales volume aggressively and profitably in its defined markets. Make sales calls to customers to help secure business and improve profitability. Train, coach, and mentor territory managers to drive sales performance and achieve market share profit objectives. Provide the General Manager with regular guidance on pricing, customer service, inventory management, and plant scheduling to achieve volume and margin objectives. Show commercial expertise by understanding competitors and positioning our client’s offer against them. Build credibility and trust with current and potential customers by providing excellent customer service and leading by example. Drive a culture that responds quickly to resolve customer concerns. Requirements Bachelor’s degree required. 3‑5 years of sales management experience. Professional, leadership-oriented image. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Assertive, competitive, and goal oriented. Willing to travel up to 75% of the time. Salary Salary $114,022 - $142,527 annually plus commission. A starting salary higher than $114K annually is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
