About the Role
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our Strategic Sourcing team at our Winona, MN manufacturing facility. What You'll Do
- Assist in the procurement of MRO supplies, machine components, capital expenditures, service contracts, tool fabrication, chemicals, and office supplies
- Manage and maintain vendor relationships, ensuring pricing, quality, and delivery expectations are consistently met
- Resolve pricing and quantity discrepancies with suppliers on mismatched invoices and receivers
- Obtain quotes and pricing from vendors to support purchasing decisions across departments
- Support inventory control and work closely with the stockroom, maintenance, and machine shop teams
- Ensure purchasing activities align with ISO requirements and internal compliance standards
- Coordinate shipping and receiving functions as needed to support procurement operations
- Provide clerical support including filing, vendor follow-up, expediting, and record keeping
- Collaborate with finance to ensure budgets are maintained and purchasing activity is accurately documented
- Communicate professionally with suppliers and internal stakeholders across all levels of the organization
- Background in MRO purchasing, inventory/warehouse operations, or industrial manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with ISO requirements and procurement compliance
- Experience in shipping, receiving, or working alongside manufacturing supervisors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general computer skills
- Strong multitasker with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Service-minded: this role supports many internal teams and requires a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach
- Professional communicator with strong verbal and written English skills
- Associate degree in Business, Procurement, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- Competitive pay starting at $21+/hour based on experience
