Cardiology - Noninvasive Physician

Aspirus Health is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiologist to provide ongoing locum tenens coverage at Aspirus Cardiology/ Aspirus Wausau Hospital , supporting a busy inpatient service during an ongoing permanent recruitment drive. This is a long-term, stable assignment offering a flexible schedule, collegial team environment, and the ability to make an immediate impact on patient care.

Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
Facility: Aspirus Cardiology Wausau
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: Through at least June 30, 2026
Schedule: 7 on / 7 off 11-hour shifts + 2 call nights per week
Practice Setting: Inpatient Only
EMR: Epic

Assignment Highlights

• Practice Setting: Inpatient Cardiology only (no outpatient work)

• Patients per Shift:

• Rounding: Assigned patients

• Hospital Size: 220 beds Level II Trauma Center Stroke Certified

• APP Support: 2 NP/PAs (Supervision Required)

• Admissions: 2 per day

• Call Schedule: 2 nights per week - Beeper call

• Temporary Privileges: Available (approx. 30 days for full credentialing)

• Nearest Airport: Central Wisconsin Airport

• Lodging: Hilton Garden Inn (recommended)

Skills & Procedures

Required:

• Non-Invasive Cardiology

• Inpatient Cardiology

Not Required:

• Interventional procedures, ablation, or device placement

Requirements

• Board Certification: Cardiology (ABIM or equivalent)

• Licensure: Active WI license or IMLC accepted

• Certifications: ACLS required

• Experience: Strong inpatient cardiology and consultative experience
