Position Membership Coordinator Department Campus Recreation Compensation Title Coordinator, CRC Membership Sales (Regular) Work Schedule Full‑time, Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm (flexible). 37.5 hours per week, 12 months per year. Purpose The Membership Coordinator is responsible for managing several key aspects of the Campus Recreation Center (CRC): Develop and lead the CRC’s member recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies, including internal and external initiatives (alumni, faculty, staff, supplemental memberships, corporate and community). Maintain and manage all membership services business activities. Develop and supervise 25+ student staff working in the Membership Services area. Primary Responsibilities Member Recruitment, Engagement, and Retention – 40% Develop and manage the membership management software and app. Develop and lead the CRC’s member recruitment strategy, including new member marketing, promotions, trial membership, tours, orientations, surveys, events, and member referral programs. Coordinate the member retention program, including member appreciation events, renewals, retention reward programs, and member exit surveys. Solicit and synthesize member feedback, and recommend and implement improvements. Manage the CRC member messaging efforts, overseeing daily, weekly, and monthly email communications regarding membership expirations, locker rental reminders, balances on account, and new member welcome messages. Develop customized plans for corporate partners interested in providing memberships for employees; strengthen relationships with prospective partners through presentations, marketing campaigns, and outreach with outside groups. Meet or exceed established membership revenue targets. Membership Services – 35% Serve as administrator for the computerized membership, locker, and sales software program (Fusion). Configure Fusion to allow for membership and locker sales and collect registration fees for programs and services. Update the Fusion program each semester and throughout the year to reflect changes in program offerings and fees. Manage database of paid memberships and locker rentals. Utilize the Fusion program and SAP Business Warehouse to generate monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports. Use Fusion software to process, monitor, and input all payroll deductions. Work collaboratively with multiple campus departments, including Payroll, Parking Services, ALLCARD Office, Alumni, Bursar, etc. Process all membership change and cancellation transactions and daily deposits; maintain accurate financial records for quarterly and annual reporting. Supervise all membership, locker, and program registration sales. Personnel Management – 25% Oversee member services desk staffing, including hiring, training, and supervising 25+ student employees. Develop an ongoing training and accuracy program for member services staff to increase sales accuracy and customer service. Create and manage student work schedules. Ensure appropriate staffing for all hours of operation. Create, encourage, and support professional development opportunities for student staff, including training programs, professional association involvement, research, conferences, and individual mentoring. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Business, Sports Management, Student Personnel, or a related field. Excellent attention to detail. Experience in business and accounting skills. Experience supervising student employees. Excellent customer service skills. Education & Experience Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred Education: Master’s Degree.
