Food and Beverage Director - Gem Steakhouse Job Summary: Customer service is the #1 goal at the Mineral Palace. This position will require you to manage the duties of the department. The Food and Beverage Director will be involved with the day to day functions, including staff management, guest interactions, office administration duties, inventory, vendor communications and labor costs. This position will oversee the management of the entire staff and address issues that the Restaurant and Bar Supervisors are unable to resolve. This position is required to ensure that operational standards are met in regards to sanitation codes and laws, food storage and loss prevention. Responsibilities Must possess excellent Management skills and possess the ability to effectively communicate with staff members in a fast paced environment. Must be able to multitask and think quickly when under pressure. Must be willing to work long and erratic hours which includes nights, weekends and holidays. Days, split shifts and split days off may also be required based on the needs of the Restaurant. Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and be able to stand for extended periods of time. Job requires strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate with customers, staff, Department Heads and personnel at the corporate office. Requires ability to prioritize and work effectively within an often pressured environment, while maintaining compliance to company policies and procedures. Must be able to understand Profit and Loss statements, verify and submit invoices, perform inventory and use it to maintain proper food and supply levels. Ability to project and maintain appropriate Food and Labor Costs. Create and maintain a budget for the F and B Department. Develop and motivate the Food and Beverage team and provide direction in day to day functions. Promote efficiency, budget awareness, company standards and commitment. Demonstrate a positive leadership style with an enthusiastic, positive, committed and flexible attitude while promoting the importance and benefits of effective team working. Posses the ability and drive to effectively Promote and Market the establishment. Create new menu items and implement the changes to the menu and/or specials. Train and provide refresher classes to employees to ensure compliance with Health and Safety Policies.
