Summer Banking High School Intern - St. Louis, MO

Summary Join us for a rewarding journey in Banking! Learn how a Bank works. Working primarily in the Retail department, you will work with other Team members to meet the needs of our clients. Additionally, you will meet with senior leaders and managers bank-wide and gain networking opportunities with individuals who have a deep banking background. Successful Interns will not only learn skills for the summer months but also be able to return and earn income while on school breaks. Availability/Schedule Monday-Friday 8:45am-4:30pm Things you will learn Retail Branches- Learn to cross-sell bank services, understand the various types of accounts and certificates, interest, and compounding rates. You will also gain experience in assisting our clients via our virtual banking portals. Marketing- Learn about marketing bank products, posting on social media and following advertising regulations. ITM (Interactive Teller Machine) Department- Learn the difference between and ATM and an ITM and how they help our clients with processing transactions, cashing checks, making deposits, withdrawals or payments. Treasury Management Department- Learn how Treasury aids our clients with many of their products and services that can help businesses. Bank Management - Meet with senior leaders in regards to how the bank is run. Human Resources Department - Learn about full cycle Human Resources process from recruitment to retirement; including benefits and payroll. Community Reinvestment – Learn how the bank gives back to our communities. Other Duties and Responsibilities Reports to work punctually as scheduled. Participate in community activities supported by the Branch. Submit assignments to manager on a weekly basis and as requested. Complete financial educational courses through Banzai, ICBA, KnowBe4, and CSI online learning courses as assigned. Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to dress code. Comply with all bank policies, regulations and laws applicable to carrying out duties and responsibilities. Keeps strict confidentiality. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Currently enrolled in high school. Participant in the St. Louis Internship Program (SLIP) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic PC skills-MS Office (Outlook, Word & Excel) Intermediate level interpersonal and communication skills Intermediate level organizational skills Flexible, team player, self-starter Ability to multi-task Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
