Join our team as a Shortage Control Associate and contribute to a secure shopping environment while delivering exceptional customer service. As an SCA, your role directly impacts store security and the overall customer experience by maintaining command presence and reducing theft opportunities at entrances, exits, and high‑risk areas. Responsibilities Maintain a professional appearance, wear the designated dress standards, and use the radio and earpiece. Stand at the front of the store, remaining vigilant and aware of surroundings. Greet every customer entering or exiting the store with a warm smile and a loud, friendly greeting. Create a secure environment and reduce opportunities for theft. Possess mastery of top shortage areas and support theft‑reduction programs. Communicate theft‑prevention information during store rallies and collaborate with the Manager on Duty. Conduct bag and package checks on associates to ensure adherence to safety and security standards. Support training of associates on shortage‑reduction programs and processes. Model safety as a top priority and address unsafe practices promptly. Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty. Qualifications 1+ year of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and visually monitor the store environment. Commitment to confidentiality and the ability to review, analyze, and comprehend business trends. Positive demeanor, strong posture, energetic greetings, and excellent customer communication skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision‑making. Excellent leadership skills that foster productive business relationships. Benefits Competitive hourly wage of $14.00 per hour. Flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
