Senior/Staff Electrical Engineer, Robotics, San Jose (Onsite Only) Job Title: Electrical engineer, Robotics, San Jose Position Type: Full‑time Location: San Jose, CA Base Salary: $150–250 (USD) Job ID#: 163491 Responsibilities Design and validate power electronics systems including battery management, power distribution, and protection circuits Develop motor driver circuits and control systems for precise robotic movement and actuation Design and implement sensor integration systems (IMUs, encoders, hall sensors, temperature sensors, etc.) Create circuit designs, schematics, and PCB layouts using industry‑standard EDA tools Perform circuit simulation and analysis to validate designs before prototyping Conduct hardware testing, debugging, and optimization for performance and reliability Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including mechanical, firmware, and software engineers Contribute to system integration and troubleshooting during development and testing phases Document designs, test procedures, and engineering specifications Support the transition from prototype to production‑ready designs with DFM/DFA considerations Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 3+ years of industrial experience in electrical system design for complex products Experience with digital electronics (microcontrollers, communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN, etc.) Proficiency in PCB design and layout using tools like Altium, Eagle, or KiCad Experience with circuit simulation tools (LTspice, PSpice, or similar) Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for complex hardware systems Excellent documentation and communication abilities Ability to work collaboratively in fast‑paced environments Preferred Qualifications Experience specifically in robotics, automation, or similar electromechanical systems Knowledge of battery technologies and battery management systems Experience with high‑performance motor control (FOC, BLDC, PMSM) Familiarity with embedded firmware development Experience with EMI/EMC design considerations and testing Knowledge of functional safety standards and compliance requirements Experience bringing products through regulatory certification (UL, CE, FCC) Familiarity with mechanical design and CAD tools Compensation The pay offered to a successful candidate will be determined by various factors, including education, work experience, location, job responsibilities, certifications, and more.
