POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State's interdisciplinary Center for Theory of Emergent Quantum Matter (C-TEQ) , part of the Institute for Computational and Data Sciences (ICDS) Quantum Hub , invites applications for several "C-TEQ Fellow” Postdoctoral Scholar positions. Start dates are flexible but can be immediate.

The successful candidates will have expertise in one or more areas related to quantum information science, quantum materials, quantum computation, artificial intelligence and computational approaches to emergent quantum matter, quantum geometry, Majorana modes, the fractional quantum anomalous Hall effect, or closely related fields.

C-TEQ Fellows will benefit from a highly collaborative and intellectually stimulating research environment, working alongside fellow postdoctoral scholars and faculty affiliates from Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Information Sciences and Technology. Faculty affiliates include Zhen Bi, Long-Qing Chen, Swaroop Ghosh, Vasant Honavar, Thomas Iadecola, Jainendra Jain, Ribhu Kaul, Xiantao Li, Chaoxing Liu, Vincent Meunier, Lukas Muechler, Marcos Rigol, Sarah Shandera, Abhinav Verma, and Binghai Yan. Fellows will also have access to the advanced computational resources and cyberinfrastructure of the Institute for Computational and Data Sciences (ICDS).

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. before their appointment start date at Penn State.

The salary of the C-TEQ Fellows is $80,000, with an additional one-time award of $5,000 toward research-related expenses, such as conferences.
