Medical Representative (Onsite Davenport, IA)

The Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team is dedicated to protecting the safety, health, and well-being of all employees. As an Onsite Medical Representative (OMR), you will play a key role in this mission by providing first aid, health guidance, and safety support directly on the operations floor. You will work closely with the WHS site manager, WHS specialist, and occasionally the Injury Prevention Specialist, participating in safety committee meetings, engaging with new hires, and supporting case management reviews. This position is ideal for a medical professional who is passionate about workplace health, injury prevention, and educating others on wellness principles.

Responsibilities

• Independently assess and administer first aid to employees for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Provide first aid support and make timely referrals to outside medical providers when additional care is needed.
• Minimize the risk of employee injury through proactive awareness, education, and engagement on the operations floor.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of all care provided to employees.
• Coordinate and manage workers' compensation and return-to-work programs for employees with work-related injuries.
• Prepare and submit daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports to document medical and safety activities.
• Engage regularly with employees and leadership on the operations floor to coach and correct observed at-risk work habits.
• Maintain a clean and organized medical workspace and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is consistently stocked.
• Participate in training and certification activities to facilitate first aid, CPR, and AED certification classes for employees.
• Maintain all personal first aid, CPR, AED, and Basic Life Support (BLS) credentials in good standing.
• Work flexible shifts, which may include days, nights, holidays, and weekends, based on operational needs.
• Assist with random saliva drug testing protocols in accordance with established procedures.
• Provide effective care delivery in emergencies and assist with onsite emergency response efforts.
• Attend weekly associate safety committee meetings and actively contribute to safety discussions and initiatives.
• Greet and engage new hires, providing health and safety orientation and ongoing one-on-one support as needed.
• Participate in weekly case management review meetings as required to support injured employees and track progress.
• Support broader onsite safety operations by collaborating with WHS team members and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved emergency cardiac care provider.
• Current valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification from a Department of Health or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
• Ability to obtain adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within three weeks if not already certified.
• Ability to independently assess injuries and illnesses and provide appropriate first aid and guidance.
• Strong documentation skills to accurately maintain medical records, daily logs, and end-of-shift reports.
• Capability to coordinate workers' compensation and return-to-work programs in alignment with safety and medical guidelines.
• Physical ability to lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach as part of daily duties.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
• Comfort working in environments with variable noise levels, temperatures, and weather conditions.
• Ability to continuously climb and descend stairs at sites where stairs are present.
• Willingness and availability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Certification to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation, reporting, and communication.
• Experience working within an industrial wellness program or similar occupational health setting.
• Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders and providing ergonomic coaching and body mechanics training.
• Demonstrated work experience with OSHA regulations and workers' compensation processes.
• Proficiency in maintaining digital medical and safety records.
• Recent experience (within the last year or six months) as a Combat Medic, Field Medic, Healthcare Specialist, Hospital Corpsman, or Aerospace Medical Service Technician.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging employees and leadership on health and safety topics.
• Commitment to ongoing learning in health, wellness, and workplace safety best practices.

Work Environment

This role is based onsite in a dynamic operations environment where you will spend significant time on the floor interacting with employees and leadership. Shifts can be up to 12 hours and may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays to support 24/7 operations. You will work in areas where noise levels can vary and where temperatures and weather conditions may fluctuate, including exposure to outdoor loading areas at delivery stations. The position requires frequent lifting up to 49 pounds, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, and regular standing and walking throughout the shift. At some sites, you will continuously climb and descend stairs. You will use digital systems to maintain medical records and reports, and standard office technologies such as Microsoft Office to support documentation and communication. The medical workspace is maintained to high standards of cleanliness and organization, with well-managed medical supply inventory to support first aid and emergency response activities.

This is a Contract position based out of Davenport, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
